Take a peek inside some of the city’s most beautiful and historic homes on the Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour. The weekend also includes a garden tour, art fair, antique car show, live music, free horse-drawn carriage rides and a Sunday brunch. Tickets are available online and are $25 in advance or $30 during the weekend.
The Aldredge House on Swiss will host free lectures during the weekend about sustainability, preservation, growing antique roses and more during the home tour. Energy saving tips, foraging and design are just some of the topics of the talks sponsored by the Friends of the Aldredge House.

Greenland Hills Neighborhood Association is hosting their annual Spring Fling fundraiser on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Glencoe Park. The event is open to everyone and includes train rides, a bounce house, food, YMCA sports, silent auction/raffle items, carnival games, and more.
“Velocity of Autumn,” by Eric Coble, tells the tale of Alexandra, an elderly artist who is battling her family over where she will spend her remaining years. See the play this weekend at the Bath House Cultural Center. Tickets are $12-$16.
Good Local Markets and Vegan Pop-Up V Market DFW team up on Saturday from 8 a.m. at White Rock Market to showcase over 20 vegan-only vendors in addition to the growers, ranchers and artisans that are usually there.
The window to join the Lakewood Service League opened up this spring and will continue through August. Join neighborhood women as they work to make Lakewood a better place and build community while they are at it. Members have to log 36 hours of community service and attend five of nine meetings throughout the year.
