Reportedly not just the one we wrote about yesterday, but three cases of pit bull attacks occurred over the weekend. Does East Dallas, as one Dallas blogger suggests, have more than its fair share of wandering pit bulls and subsequent maulings? I don’t know about that … I remember a little more than a year ago a series of pit bull attacks — in February and March 2009 there were at least three that I remember. Two outside a west Dallas supermarket, one in Garland, and then in February and March of this year there were more in Far North Dallas and Fort Worth. Note: the NBC 5 blog could probably find a new image of a terrifying snarling snaggle-toothed pit bull — it’s run the same one repeatedly. I still wonder, as we brought up earlier in the week,  if regular dog-bite stories get the same attention (no I don’t; I know they don’t) or if there is a bit of “fear mongering” going on, as one of our Facebook fans suggested.
