The shopping center, located at the northwest corner of E. Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road, is home to Tom Thumb, Starbucks, Piada Italian Street Food, medical offices and other retail and service shops.

Until a few days ago, most of the shopping center was defined by a red brick. The building around salad restaurant Crisp & Green was painted white last year, ahead of the opening.

Now, the rest of the building has been painted white and gray.

Eric Davidson, the senior manager of communications for Regency Centers, which owns the property, says the decision to paint was made after hearing neighborhood input. Regency Centers also wanted to enhance the look of the intersection and drive traffic, Davidson says.

Mockingbird Commons has over 120,000 square feet of retail space, and according to the property website, there are only two available spaces, as of publication.

Medallion Center has also been getting some updates — including a newly raised facade, improved signage and new lighting — which are scheduled to be completed in February.
