The store at Mockingbird Commons, at the corner of E. Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road, is planning a Sept. 6 grand opening, complete with giveaways and special offers.

The first five neighbors in line will receive free Piada for a year; that means 52 free entree cards. The 20 people after that will be entered to win Piada gift cards, swag and more.

Piada will donate 50% of its opening-day sales to Spanish World School.

Events start at 10:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting. Giveaways begin at 10:45 a.m., and from 1-3 p.m., diners will get free fountain drinks with the purchase of an entree.

There’s an all-day special for anyone who has a valid Student ID; get any entree and fountain drink for $8.

If you download the Piada app, you’ll earn double points on every order through Sept. 20.

There are Piada locations in Plano, Richardson and Frisco, but this will be the first in Dallas. Also, it will have a drive-thru window.

The restaurant serves piadas — Italian-style wraps — as well as pastas, salads and grain bowls. A couple side dishes available are meatballs and breadsticks.
