The poké fad that overtook East Dallas in 2018 may be fading. After less than six months in business, Mamasan House of Poké has permanently closed.

The restaurant’s owners announced the news Wednesday in a Facebook post.

“Dallas, we have some sad news,” the post states. “Mamasan is permanently closed for business. Thank you to those who supported Mama. We felt the love and will forever be grateful. We will miss you Dallas.”

The last day of business at the eatery on 2818 N. Fitzhugh Ave. was Nov. 30. The owners offered a 30 percent discount on food that day.

Mamasan entered a market already saturated with poké restaurants when it opened June 27. Poké Bop at Mockingbird and Abrams and Freshfin Poké Co. and Poké Sushi Roll on Lower Greenville all served items inspired by the Hawaiian raw-fish dish.

It seems that even with Mamasan’s closure, East Dallas residents will still have plenty of places to order poké.
