Dallas police are investigating after a woman was shot early Wednesday in far East Dallas.
The woman was hit in the ankle just after midnight when a stray bullet traveled through the door of her second-story apartment, according to Fox affiliate KDFW.
Police told the station they think the shooting was the result of a gun battle. Officers received multiple calls of shots fired before being notified of the woman’s injury.
She was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
No arrest had been made as of Thursday afternoon.
