Curly the State Fair macawWe wrote yesterday afternoon about the Summer Adventures in Fair Park’s missing macaw, Curly, who took off during a bird show at the theme park Tuesday and didn’t come back. This was Curly’s second taste of freedom, after she and buddy Moe left during a performance in mid-May and wound up in Forest Hills near White Rock Lake.

After our blog post yesterday, an M-Streets resident who prefers to stay out of the limelight mentioned to a neighbor that an odd-looking bird had nestled in one of his yard’s trees. The neighbor had seen the information about Curly on our blog and provided contact information found there to the M-Streets resident. After getting in touch with Summer Adventures officials, Curly’s bird show handlers reunited her with Moe this morning.

After two escapes in a month, the bird show people say Curly won’t be performing again anytime soon as they work to protect the green-winged macaw.
