JingHe Japanese Restaurant is planning to open in Mockingbird Station.
The modern Japanese restaurant and izakaya will offer barbecue, tapas, sake, beer and cocktails, according to its Instagram page.
It will be located at 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, suite 105 and expects to open around October.
Suite 105 was formerly home to Urban Taco, an archived version of the Mockingbird Station directory shows. Urban Taco closed in March after 16 years in East Dallas, though fans can still order Urban Taco for pickup or delivery through Oomi Kitchen.
We asked the PR firm that works with Mockingbird Station if JingHe was planning to open in the old Urban Taco space, and the PR firm said they “do not have any updates to share at the moment regarding Jinghe Japanese or the Urban Taco space.”
They did tell us that Sekushi, a Japanese eatery that had previously been announced as an incoming Mockingbird Station tenant, expected to open on the corner near Urban Taco, was renamed Sushi Mockï by the restaurant owners before it opened.
