Interesting article on the board fight going on at Luby’s between the Pappas Brothers of Pappadeaux’s fame and a New York hedge fund who has been buying a stake in the company.
It mentions that same store sales are down 3.4% overall. That being said, I have heard that the Luby’s on Mockingbird is one of, if not the top performing locations of the chain. The land that Luby’s is built is actually owned by St. Thomas (which it bought along with the church next door) and the long term lease agreement is very favorable for Luby’s versus other leases in the area.
We eat there a couple times each month when soccer or other kids events control our evenings. Decent food for what it is and kid friendly which is always important to us!
