Trammel Crow Residential took over the building project on the site of the old Vickery Towers, and neighbors think that’s a good thing.
An update from the Belmont Conservation District says Trammel Crow is a better fit to build the high-end condos and apartments since previous owners Columbia Pacific Advisors specializes in senior housing.
TCR’s plans calls for a five-story tower surrounded by street-level apartments.
450 condo-style units in a 5 story tower with underground parking and a ring of 50 townhome-style units with attached garages. All units will be rentals starting at around $2000/mo.
The neighborhood association’s post says they’re happy a local is in charge of the project:
… they opted to re-design the exterior in a Craftsman-style which is more in keeping with our neighborhood than the modern design Columbia had proposed. The project is being headed up by Matt Enzler, a Lower Greenville resident who lives only a couple of blocks away.
The project is expected to be completed in July 2019. Here’s a timeline, via the neighborhood association:
- Late January through late April will see a massive excavation for the parking garage. Expect to see lots of very large trucks hauling many tons of dirt off the site throughout this time.
- May through August will see mostly ground work drilling piers and burying utilities.
- September 2017 through May 2018 will see concrete work on the garage and streets.
- June 2018 through July 2019 will be the remainder of the construction.
