Hari Mari flip flopsWhen we profiled neighborhood residents Jeremy and Lila Stewart in July 2012, their flip-flops company with a conscience — Hari Mari — was just getting started. Their company produces and sells stylish, padded flip flops and donates $3 of each sale to fighting children’s cancer.

WFAA-TV (Channel 8) just discovered the company today, when they were featured in a story talking about their business.

The flip flops aren’t inexpensive ($60 or so), but they’re made from recyclable rubber foam, and customers can turn their old shoes back in for recycling. So far, the company has donated more than $10,000 to Cook Children’s Medical Center to fight cancer.
