Two new restaurants are set to open on Greenville Avenue in early 2021, CultureMap reported.

Carte Blanche will debut at 2114 Greenville Ave. in the space formerly occupied by Mudsmith. The coffee shop closed in October 2019. Renovations will take place over the next few months, and an opening is planned for early 2021, according to CultureMap.

Casey and Amy La Rue will open the brick-and-mortar location after operating as a series of fine dining pop-ups throughout Dallas. In the mornings, Carte Blanche will serve pastries as an upscale bakery. At night, it will convert to a restaurant with a high-end, multicourse tasting menu starring Texas ingredients and luxurious wine, CultureMap reported.

Marugame Udon, a cafeteria-style Japanese noodle restaurant, is also expected to open next year in mid-January, according to the publication. The eatery was supposed to open in early summer in the former Baker Bros. American Deli in the Old Town Shopping Center, 5500 Grenville Ave. But it was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The restaurant will serve bowls of udon noodles, which are thicker and chewier than ramen. Bowls come with noodles, broth, toppings and garnishes. The menu also features grilled skewers and chicken katsu sandwiches.
