Music Web sites have been buzzing this week about electronic music duo Crystal Castles’ clash with the Granada Theater Tuesday night. I wasn’t there, but I hear that the doors never opened and the show was canceled after fans hung around for hours outside. Pitchfork has a pretty good run-down of the drama here.

I have to side with Granada on this one. It’s a reliable and reputable music venue with very good sound, and as a friend put it, "I’ve never heard of anything like this happening at the Granada."

The theater sent an email to everyone who bought tickets, offering free admission to the shows of their choice. It reads in part, "It is the policy of The Granada Theater to never cancel shows, but sometimes matters are beyond our control. We pleaded with the band for several hours to play their set, but in the end they refused to perform … or apologize."
