School officials are considering rebuilding Geneva Heights Elementary if voters approve a possible 2020 bond that could affect facilities in the Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern.
Formed by District 2 trustee Dustin Marshall, Woodrow’s Facilities Advisory Committee recommended the rebuild at a meeting Monday to evaluate several options for how the bond, if proposed and approved, could apply to the feeder. The timing and exact amount of the bond are still preliminary, but the committee is looking at a handful of options that would impact many schools in the Woodrow pattern.
Dallas ISD gave the elementary school a Facilities Condition Index of 91, which makes it one of the district buildings most in need of repairs or replacement. The high score will most likely cause the board of trustees to give appropriate funds for a replacement of the building.
Dustin Marshall voiced his support for rebuilding Geneva Heights on Twitter:
My @WoodrowWildcats Facilities Advisory Committee evaluated several options for how a 2020 @dallasschools Bond could impact the Feeder. They ultimately decided to recommend that Geneva Heights Elem be rebuilt. I’ve agreed to support that. Details here: https://t.co/rDIVMsjj7X
