The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce announced the six winners of its annual Teacher of the Year awards.

Both public and private school schools in East Dallas are represented. Teachers were chosen based on their significant contributions toward innovative and unique educational programs.

Around 53 teachers were nominated for the awards.

The winners are:

Brittnay Connor: Geneva Heights Elementary School

Shaun Phillips: Alex Sanger Preparatory School

Steven Ramirez: Bryan Adams High School

Jordan Gusa: Zion Lutheran School

Will Keffler: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School

Adam Jochelson: Lakehill Preparatory School

Each teacher will receive $250, and their school will receive the same.

An awards luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 23 at St. John’s Episcopal School. Tickets may be purchased here.

Last year’s winners taught at Dallas Academy, St. John’s Episcopal School, Bishop Lynch High School, S. S. Conner Elementary, Lee McShan Elementary and Alex W. Spence Middle School.
