This is the second public meeting regarding the Gaston Avenue Corridor Transportation Study. The Gaston Avenue corridor spans 3.7 miles from Washington Avenue to just west of the Gaston-Garland-Grand intersection.

The Dallas Department of Transportation started the study to “evaluate the existing conditions of the Gaston Avenue corridor; the study “will provide recommendations for traffic calming and pedestrian facility improvements.”

There are dedicated left turns at Abrams Road, Munger and Washington Avenue. The speed limit varies based on location, but it’s either 30 mph or 35 mph at any point along Gaston.

A stakeholder steering committee comprised of neighborhood and community representatives was formed in late 2019 to provide information about local issues and offer feedback at project milestones. City Council members from District 2, District 9 and District 14 appointed the committee members.

The City held a virtual public meeting in June 2021. Watch a recording of the meeting here. Or just take a look at the presentation slides here.

The public meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 19 at East Dallas Boys and Girls Club, 4804 Worth St.
