Exactly one year ago, the Texas Department of Transportation announced it would redesign the Garland-Gaston-Grand intersection in the “reverse T” option.

At the time, department spokeswoman Michelle Raglon said construction would likely start no later than 2020.

Well, it’s 2020. Should neighbors expect orange cones, demolition and drilling noises anytime soon?

Laura Weaver, public information officer for TxDOT, said Tuesday the department is in the process of moving utility lines and plans to start construction by the end of 2020.

It sounds like neighbors have a few more months of peace and quiet.
