A holiday hold-up at Lakewood Smokehouse, the new barbecue joint coming to Lakewood Shopping Center, is keeping the doors closed until after the New Year. Their spokeswoman Cynthia Smoot explains: “There is a permit issue that is causing a slight delay with the opening. Because of the Christmas holiday, it looks like it will be sometime the first week of January before Lakewood Smokehouse opens.”
On Saturday Urbano Cafe is hosting a pop up shop in its Urban Goods space, featuring local goods by local makers. Urbano Cafe is at 1410 N. Fitzhugh. The event is on Dec. 19 from 10 a.m-3 p.m.
