Greenville Avenue’s popularity means that when one restaurant closes, the space rarely remains empty for long. As is the case with the site that previously held award-winning Clark Food and Wine, which will soon house a California restaurant group, according to CultureMap. ACME Hospitality plans to open its third Laurel Tavern, marking the first of the chain to be located outside of Southern California. The menu will focus on burgers, sandwiches, cocktails, craft beers and wine. Expect things like the jalapeño burger topped with chipotle sauce, jalapenos, poblano, pepper jack and onion rings; or the Laurel burger with honey mustard, avocado, pickled red onion and shredded lettuce. It will be the second California-based burger-centric restaurant to open on Lower Greenville this year, joining Slater’s 50/50 which opened earlier this summer just up the road.
Pints and Quarts on Greenville will get an Oak Lawn counterpart.
Two Grenville Avenue favorites are multiplying into the Oak Lawn area, according to CultureMap. Brooke Humphries, who runs hip coffee shop Mudsmith and throwback burger spot Pints and Quarts, is taking both concepts to the Centrum building in Oak Lawn. The installation is hoping to open this fall, and is part of a $20 million renovation of the building.
