LWshopsThere’s been quite a buzz – of both rumor and activity – at the Lakewood Shopping Center at Gaston and Abrams since Lincoln Property Co. bought the strip in 2011.

Construction crews have been out working on the roof. Although the commotion is annoying, at least we can assume they aren’t tearing the whole place down.

The UPS store has been booted out to make room for Floss. The new sign out front boasts of “a new experience in dentistry.” I’ve put in a call to Floss, so stay tuned for more on that. FLOSS

The UPS Store relocated to another Lincoln property at Gaston and Garland in October.

Also, the School of Contemporary Ballet Dallas officially opened at their new location at 5400 E. Mockingbird last week. Apparently the new developments were just in the nick of time for them because they were out-growing their old space anyway.

The lease on their Lakewood studio is up in March, so they plan to rent the space out for private parties and the like until then.

Several of the other store owners in the shopping center have leases that don’t end for several years. So we’re likely to see more changes in future.
