Fireside Pies has permanently closed its restaurant at Abrams and Skillman. The Grapevine, Fort Worth and original Henderson Avenue locations remain open.

A note posted on the front door of the Creekside Fireside Pies Monday by Kay Mead, operations vice president of Retail Plazas, Inc., noted that the landlord had “changed the door locks of the premises…as a result of the delinquency of Tenant in paying for rent.” Signs posted on the windows proclaim the property is now for lease.

Fireside Pies opened in Creekside with great fanfare in 2019, with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce. The pizza and pasta joint was frequently full of in-house diners and neighbors popping in for carry-out until the pandemic, which also temporarily shuttered the nearby Alamo Drafthouse, derailed their success story. Fireside Pies never quite recovered at the Abrams/Skillman location, and nearby Sugarfire BBQ suffered a similar fate. They closed earlier this year.
