A fight that broke out at Far West nightclub on Gaston near White Rock Lake early this morning reportedly led to a car chase and shooting. In 2008, residents of some East Dallas neighborhoods disputed the club’s 99-year special use permit and won, sort of. Now the permit is set to expire when in May 2013, when the club’s lease expires. Former Lakewood Neighborhood Association president Henda Salmeron says she hoped to see the club close down immediately, but that 2013 is better than 99 years.
“I’m sad to hear of (more violence) happening there,” she adds. “That’s no good for anyone — the neighborhood or the victim.”
