Earlier this summer, the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce announced that a new Costco Business Center is coming Aug. 9 to East Dallas.  Now, we have the details on what the warehouse will have to offer.

Don’t expect the business center to satisfy all your traditional Costco needs because this center operates differently. The new Costco Business Center will focus on businesses within a 50-mile radius. Opening on the border of East Dallas at 8282 Park Lane, customers will come from Lakewood, the Park Cities and Preston Hollow. However, the radius will expand the center’s network by attracting other businesses to the area.

So don’t plan on moving your weekly Costco runs to this location. Instead, come to the center when it’s your turn to host a family reunion or supply for a large event, the Dallas Morning News suggests.

Each business center throughout the United States pulls an average of $225 million in sales per year, compared to $175 million at a regular Costco, according to the Morning News.

When you walk in, there’s no food court, tire center, electronics section, jewelry or cute clothes. Instead, you’ll find options like 60-pound packages of uncut beef. The Dallas Morning News reports that the smallest option is a 25-pound sack of potatoes.

Not to mention, there’s a walk-in 10,000 square-foot cooler that will provide jackets to shoppers. There are industrial-size dishwashers, refrigerators, mixers, fryers, sinks and prep tables.

“This is Costco’s answer to the needs of a business. It’s like a giant warehouse, and we deliver,” general merchandise manager Shannon Weeks told the Morning News.

Store hours will accommodate a business schedule: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
