Educational First Steps hosted the “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” Benefit Gala on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas. The sold-out event of over 500 attendees surpassed its fundraising goal and contributing to the organization’s goal to continue creating and supporting early learning environments throughout North Texas.

The event featured a discussion between Allyson Felix, a track and field Olympian and women’s rights activist and Kristi Nelson, a three-time Emmy Award-winning news anchor with NBC5. An eleven-time Olympic medalist, seven-time Olympic champion and world record holder.

In addition, longtime Educational First Steps supporters, the Berry Corporation and Jennifer Mosle, were presented with Early Childhood Champion Awards.

“Our community’s unwavering commitment to the Educational First Steps mission has made a significant difference in the lives of over 100,000 children since 1997,” Vickie Allen-Brown, Educational First Steps president and CEO said in a statement.
