To wrap up the week, here’s a look back at some recent news nuggets from around the web: [list type=”bullet”]

  • Get a load of this “tiny-house” on wheels, created Beth Ann Norrgard, who lived in Old East Dallas before she decided to simplify her life and sold her two-bedroom tudor house. She’s been working on the 112-foot house since last year, and hopes to be done by Christmas, according to The Dallas Morning News. She eventually hopes to create a tiny-house community in Dallas.
  • Check out this great photo essay on Slate, featuring the work of photographer Nancy Newberry. In her project, Newberry explores the ritual of mum exchange, and two students from Woodrow Wilson High School are included in the montage.
  • The Dallas Morning News asked if their readers think Dallas ISD offers enough nontraditional options to students? Or if they would consider moving their children from traditional schools to a magnet? Several East Dallasites voiced their opinions.
  • Looks like Lakewood Brewing Co. is offering a limited bottling of their Bourbon Barrel Temptress, an imperial milk stout, according to the Observer, City of Ate.
