Life handed police officer Joshua Burns lemons when he was hit in the shoulder, chest, and legs while answering a domestic disturbance call in February, so earlier this week, some kiddos from the Lakewood Neighborhood Association made him lemonade. They set up a stand to raise money for Burns, My Fox DFW reports.

Rudolph Bush posted an opinion blog on the Dallas Morning News website earlier this month, explaining why he thinks Dallas has to change the way it educates kids, and Lakewood/East Dallas got a shout-out.

A couple of different East Dallas joints were mentioned in this Observer write-up about, “How Food Trucks and Craft Beer Helped Each Other on Their Way to Helping Dallas.”
