Every Wednesday this State Fair of Texas season, bring three canned or other nonperishable food items to the gate and pay just $2 to enter the fair.
The North Texas Food Bank’s “It’s a Fair Deal” kicks off today and continues Oct. 12 and 19. The food bank and Kroger are challenging fair-goers to donate the equivalent of 10 truckloads of food.
Last year, 177,558 pounds of food were donated at the fair, which equals about 140,000 meals.
Regular adult admission to the fair is $16; parking is $15. Kids age two and under are free; kids under 48 inches tall are $12.
