For the third consecutive year, Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake provided turkeys to school families of Mesquite Day School for Thanksgiving. The hospital donated 54 turkeys to help low-income families with infants and children in the east Dallas community. Chief operating officer Jorge Trevino, RN, presented the turkeys to members of Mesquite Day School.
The school, which is located about seven miles from the hospital, is a no-cost Early Head Start Program for qualifying families with children from birth to 36 months of age with and without special needs. The school is primarily funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, and is open year-round except for two weeks in the summer and most major holidays.
