Continuing to work toward the goal of raising $20 million in support of the "Road to Broad" national prize recognizing the nation’s top urban school district, DISD bagged $3 million Tuesday from the W.W. Caruth Jr. Foundation of Communities Foundation of Texas, the Harold Simmons Foundation, and the Texas Instruments Foundation. DISD has raised about $9.4 million of its goal so far and appears well on the public relations road, at least, to earning the Broad Prize by 2010 — the stated DISD goal.
