If you haven’t seen HBO Film’s Temple Grandin, see it. The recent Golden Globe winner is a wonderfully done piece about the autistic woman who — through her special ability to understand animals and to see industry from a unique perspective — revolutionized livestock farming.
The Dirt Doctor, East Dallas’ Howard Garrett, who we wrote about in the September 2010 Advocate, got a chance to interview Grandin when they met at the Acres USA Conference.
This woman is amazing, and watching and listening to her speak to Garrett, it appears Claire Danes, who portrayed her in the movie, had her mannerisms and tone down pat. Here’s a link to the video.
