Pizzeria Testa is on its way to Lower Greenville near the Granada Theater. What was once Kirby’s Woodfire Grill and then Graham Dodd’s heralded but short-lived Wayward Sons will be the second location for the Frisco pizzeria.
Owner Rob Schaefer leans on his Italian heritage for the quickly-cooked Neapolitan pizza that neighbors know from Cane Rosso. The restaurant will serve calzones, appetizers, salads and panuozzi, which is something between a pizza, calzone and a sandwich. In addition, it will have a solid wine selection and an Italian take on sangria.
The only other location of Pizzeria Testa is in Frisco near the tollway. That restaurant has received several accolades. It was the 2013 World Champion for Italian-style pizza at the International Pizza Expo, included in the The Dallas Morning News Best of DFW list and featured in “Best Outdoor Patios” by Community Impact.
The Greenville location will be adjacent to The Blue Fish sushi and Aw Shucks, down the street from Gloria’s and across from Sundown at the Granada and Snuffers. Management has not returned a call, but the interior looks near complete, so pizza shouldn’t be too far behind.
