Miznon, an Israeli restaurant chain created by chef Eyal Shani specializing in innovative Mediterranean street food, is opening in the fall in the former Postino space at 2639 Main St, one of the many new global restaurants to enter the city this year.
“The vision of the Miznon is based on haute cuisine food, to take the taste of each city and translate it into pita. We take the energy, desires, limitations, beauty, and food and express it all in one pita,” Chef Eyal Shani said.
Miznon uses fresh ingredients, raw materials, and knowledge to create seasonally inspired dishes for a new type of Mediterranean street food.

The first Miznon opened in Tel Aviv in 2011, which expanded to Paris, Vienna, Melbourne, and Singapore in 2018. Its first US restaurant opened in Chelsea Market, NYC, and now in Dallas in 2023.
Shani is well-known for his roasted cauliflower, “The Original World Famous Baby Cauliflower.”
The technique behind the famous cauliflower starts with boiling the head of the vegetable into a large stockpot and letting it sit until tender. From there, polish the cauliflower with olive and polish it off with sel gris before placing it in the oven. Bake until dark brown and drizzle an additional coat of olive oil for a warm and savory appetizer.
Some of the menu items will include:
- Lavan – Cauliflower, tahini, tomato, salsa, spicy green peppers, scallions
- Falafel Burger – Tomato, pickles, sour cream, green chili peppers
- Rib Eye Minute Steak – Tahini, tomato salsa, pickles, spicy green peppers
- Folded Cheese Burger in a Pita* – Cheddar, garlic aioli, sour cream, tomato, pickles
- Fish ‘N’ Chips Pita – Branzino, potato, pickles, aioli, parsley, vinegar
- Run over Potato – Baked potato, sour cream, perfumed w/garlic, dill & scallions
- Lamb Kebab Plate – roasted tomatoes and onion, tahini, spicy
There is no scheduled opening date. However, the restaurant anticipates opening sometime around October for customers.
