Tonight will be Cane Rosso White Rock‘s first night in business, according to this story from City of Ate.
“Seeing as it is raining and temps are supposed to drop down into the 40s with high winds, it seemed like a really good idea to open a restaurant,” owner Jay Jerrier is quoted as saying.
Permitting delays kept the restaurant from its hoped-for April 1 opening. Cane Rosso won’t be serving its full menu tonight, but it will have appetizers, salads, pizzas and desserts. Brunch starts Mother’s Day weekend. (Hint to neighborhood dads: Mother’s Day is in less than three weeks on May 12. Now is the time to make a brunch or lunch reservation at Cane Rosso White Rock or the neighborhood restaurant of your choice. You’re welcome, ladies.)
Cane Rosso also updated its handy dandy map with even more explicit instructions on how to get to the restaurant, which is hidden from street views. (Note to would-be burglars: Pay no attention to the map.)
City of Ate also reported that Mot Hai Ba, the new Vietnamese restaurant from Good 2 Go Tacos’ Jeana Johnson and Colleen O’Hare, would be open today, but we stopped in for lunch today and, sadly, that wasn’t the case.
We were told, however, that the restaurant would be open “very soon,” and definitely by the end of April. Yummy smells were emanating from the kitchen, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
