The business posted the announcement on its Facebook page. It plans to open at 6341 La Vista Drive, the former Full Circle Tavern spot.

Full Circle Tavern opened February 2019, replacing the Ginger Man. Previously, that space had been Angelo’s.

Blackfriar Pub, an Irish American sports pub, was founded in an old frame house on McKinney Avenue in Uptown in 2003. Its front yard was transformed into a beer garden, and the interior of the building has a history of its own.

Woodwork used as decorations came from the VIP room of the former Hard Rock Cafe, dubbed the “Cheese Club.” The restaurant was next door to the pub.

According to Blackfriar’s website, the woodwork was originally from a castle in England owned by Peter Townshend of The Who. The whole room was was shipped to Dallas in 1982.

At Blackfriar Pub, neighbors can enjoy traditional pub food such as fish and chips, pretzels, burgers and more. For drinks, there are plenty of craft cocktails and a selection of European beers and whiskey, Scotch and American bourbons. Frozen Irish coffee is what it’s known for.

The pub also serves brunch.

And this will be a great place for sports fans. Kevin Bartley, the director of operations, said the NFL Sunday Ticket, UFC fights, soccer, a few college sports and more will be shown.
