Participants are encouraged to present reproductions using paint, sketch or sculpture. Completed reproductions can be submitted to Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts between July 14 and Sept. 15 during open hours. Submitted artwork, and the originals, will be on display at the conservatory through September 15. Participants can view or study these pieces during the conservatory’s open hours.

In conjunction with the contest, the Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts summer art gallery will kick off during a reception on July 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.

McCarter and Potter will be present to discuss their pieces and encourage the children of Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts, the sister school Park Cities School of Music and surrounding kids in the community to participate in the summer’s art contest. The kick off occasion will also showcase live musical performances, hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer.

The Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts is located at the 7328 Gaston.
