Dallas-based Larkspur Capital, which has many multifamily project underway, received approval from the City Plan Commission Thursday to combine three lots in the 4900 block of Live Oak, between Fitzhugh and Collett, into one 3.6-acre lot. That does not include the site of a 1921 mansion, at Live Oak and Fitzhugh, whose owners lost a bid to turn it into a wedding and event venue earlier this year.

The property, about a block from Jimmy’s Food Store, is zoned MF-2, which means Larkspur could build  two-story apartments or townhomes there. Larkspur has not responded to a call seeking comment.

The firm has several multifamily projects underway in our neighborhood, including the Capitol Flats, the Bennett Avenue Townhouses and The Quarter, on Fitzhugh between Capitol and Fuqua.
