All Saints Episcopal Church, a neighbor to St. Thomas for more than 25 years, has closed and St. Thomas will turn the property into green and athletic-use space.

St. Thomas’ Fr. John Libone, in a note to churchgoers this past Sunday, expressed his sadness at losing the neighboring church, but added that “the closing allows (St. Thomas) the opportunity to expand and complete the (athletic) field and green space”, which church and school leaders have wanted to do for a long while. Until now, they had been “landlocked” when it came to expansion, Libone notes.

That letter to parishioners implies that a fundraising campaign for the project will kick off soon.
