A New York-based firm recently purchased a string of retail properties and undeveloped land along N. Henderson Avenue.

The firm, Acadia Realty Trust, acquired the properties for $85.4 million in April, according to the company’s website.

Some of the tenants filling the properties are Warby Parker, Tecovas, Sfuzzi, The Whippersnapper and Sprouts Farmers Market. In total, the properties span from Central Expressway to Ross Avenue and include 123,960 square feet.

The success of retailers and restaurants on Henderson “serves as a promising proof of concept for what is to come,” the company says.

“With approvals in place for the development site and plans to invest in the portfolio and surrounding neighborhood, Henderson Avenue is poised to become a thriving retail corridor similar to the other street markets where [Acadia] has successfully invested in across the country,” the company says. “Significant redevelopment and densification opportunities will enable the company to add retail and office space to the portfolio and further connect and activate this already thriving district.

“These improvements will have an emphasis on placemaking and will bring distinct architecture, public spaces, local art and expanded parking capacity to Henderson Avenue,” the company says.
