Real estate company Abbey MacDonald has moved from Lakewood to an office in Highland Park. The new location serves clients and agents better, broker/owner Michael Dolhancey said.  The new office is one of several throughout the Dallas area that the agency can access as part of a deal with the Regis Group. “It was much smarter and cheaper,” Dolhancey said of the move.

Janet Dines Meridith, who is part of a family that has extensive real estate holdings in Lakewood, owns the property. The 920-square-foot building is next door to the Lakewood Post Office. There are no “for lease” or  “for sale” signs yet.

The building, which started out as a KFC before it was converted to office/retail space about eight years ago, was a good location during fat times in the real estate business, Dolhancey said. But “we just didn’t get the walk-in traffic that we expected in the three years that we were there,” he said. “We did get a lot of people trying to mail a package, though.”
