We’re working on a development story for the April issue (very spiffy, if I say so myself), and the subject of traffic circles came up. Since I was recently shouted down on the subject, I thought I’d broach it again from a different perspective.

What if the state highway people, instead of the mess that passes for the Garland Road/Buckner intersection, had built a traffic circle instead of whatever it is they’re building? And what if they had rescued the Casa Linda Mobil station’s Pegasus, restored and residing at the county’s Old Red museum, and installed it as a statue in the middle of the traffic circle?

Now that would be highway construction.
