I tend to think that officing right next to a spa would be a wonderful thing, but it turns out I could be wrong about that.
Neighborhood eatery Franki’s Li’l Europe in Casa Linda Plaza recently closed down after being flooded by the spa directly above it. All of the hardwood flooring and part of the walls had to be completely replaced and refinished, so owner Jeffrey Batt was forced to close for a couple of weeks. But Franki’s has reopened, and Batt believes all the refurbishing will be finished next Monday or Tuesday, Jan. 29 or 30.
And if you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day restaurant, he offers a pretty good deal — Friday, Feb. 9 through Tuesday, Feb. 13 will be $75 for a three-course meal for two and a bottle of wine, and the actual Valentine’s Day three-course meal costs $40 per person. Look for other suggestions in our February edition, which will begin delivery this weekend.
