Dallas CASA (court-appointed special advocates for children), which is based on Swiss Avenue, raised $1.25 million in its 28th annual Dallas CASA Classic golf tournament.
The tournament took place earlier this month and was co-hosted by AT&T, Goldman Sachs and Energy Leaderboard.
Dallas CASA provides trained community volunteers who are appointed by the courts to advocate for abused and/or neglected children who are living in foster care, according to the nonprofit’s website. Over 1,000 advocates were assigned to more than 2,000 children in Dallas County protective care. The proceeds from the golf tournament go to support this work.
“The Dallas CASA Classic is more than a tournament — it’s a testament to what our community can achieve when we come together for children’s futures,” said Paige Richey, chief administrative officer of Goldman Sachs in Dallas and Dallas CASA board member, in a press release.
Over the years, the tournament has raised over $29 million in total, and it regularly attracts hundreds of golfers from around the country, according to the press release.
“Every year, we see the impact of advocacy in the lives of children, and we are inspired to do even more,” said Corey Anthony, senior vice president at AT&T, Dallas CASA board member and volunteer advocate, in the press release.
In addition to the co-hosts, multiple sponsors also came together to bring the tournament to life.
“Dallas CASA’s mission is made possible by the unwavering support of our corporate partners,” Dallas CASA President and CEO Kathleen LaValle said in the press release. “We are especially grateful to welcome the Energy Leaderboard, a joint effort of ExxonMobil, Helmerich & Payne, Inc. and Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc. as a new co-host this year, joining AT&T and Goldman Sachs. Their commitment ensures that every child in foster care has a voice and a champion in court and in life.”
