New Friends New Life (NFNL), the nonprofit that aims to support sex trafficking victims, will recognize four individuals at its annual luncheon, including one from East Dallas.
Chad Frymire of Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and resident of ZIP Code 75228, will be honored with a 2025 ProtectHER Award at the Stand for Her Luncheon on Sept. 12 at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Downtown. Frymire will be joined by fellow award recipients Erin Nealy Cox, Eliza McCoy and Laila Mickelwait, according to a press release.
Frymire has been the public policy director at Dallas CASA for 17 years, and he helps put on National Adoption Day in Dallas County, according to the press release. Besides that, he’s been involved with several anti-trafficking and child protection organizations, like:
- North Texas Coalition Against Human Trafficking (as president for over 10 years)
- The Office of the Governor’s Care Coordination Multidisciplinary Team
- Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center Care Coordination Advisory Board
- The Texas Attorney General’s Anti-Trafficking Task Force
- The City of Dallas Mayor’s Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Advisory Council
- North Texas Foster Care Consortium
Why did Frymire dedicate his life to this cause? The press release said that he lost his sister because of “circumstances related to trafficking” and ended up adopting her child from foster care.
“Through his tireless professional leadership and his personal connection to the horrors of this brutal industry, Chad is a courageous and kind voice in the anti-trafficking space and a living example of what it looks like to turn pain into purpose,” NFNL CEO Bianca Davis said in the press release.
Aside from the awards, the Stand for Her Luncheon will also include a moderated conversation between actor Lucy Liu and NBC 5 anchor Laura Harris.
