The pizzeria’s owner Rod Schaefer, who also owns the building, has leased the space to Goodwins owners and operators Austin Rodgers and Jeff Bekavac, who will turn it into a new restaurant, according to The Dallas Morning News article. The Pizzeria Testa location in Frisco will stay open.

Schaefer told The Dallas Morning News that he closed the pizzeria because he was convinced by Rodgers and Bekavac’s vision, especially since they are locals. Rodgers is a longtime Greenville Avenue resident, and Bekavac lives in Lake Highlands.

“We are handing off the baton,” Schaefer said to The Dallas Morning News. “Jeff and Austin’s passion and heart for the concept became infectious to me.”

It’s unknown what vibe the new restaurant will have, though its menu is expected to be different than Goodwins.
