This comes after City Council voted to increase the minimum rate to $1.00 per hour in May of this year — noting that the majority of parking meter rates in the city have not changed in over 10 years. The increased minimum rate will only be applied to meters that are below $1.00 per hour.

The new increased minimum meter rate will not take effect in Deep Ellum until May 9, 2026, due to the reconstruction of Commerce Street.
