The Dallas City Council approved ForwardDallas 2.0 yesterday, Sept. 25. The citywide land use plan, an updated version of the 2006 ForwardDallas plan, received an 11 – 4 vote. The 2.0 plan outlines how and where the city should grow over the coming decades.Â
The plan — having its first full draft published in Sept. 2023 — covers several land use topics such as Transit-Oriented Development, Housing Choice and Access as well as Revitalization.
The City Council Economic Development Committee, City Plan Commission and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan Committee provided insight for the plan’s evolution, as well as the feedback that’s been shared by residents.
