The company expanded to Building 2 of Energy Square, located at 4849 Greenville Ave. It was started by Nick Clark, who left his job in commercial real estate after he discovered the concept of “flexible workspace.” The first Common Desk opened in Deep Ellum in 2012. Since then, it has expanded to 20 locations throughout D-FW, including in the Continental Gin Building in Deep Ellum, and in Houston, Austin and cities in North Carolina.

Common Desk’s latest acquisition includes 25,000 square feet across two floors, encompassing 11 conference rooms, 62 offices, three midsize suites and socially distanced coworking space. Energy Square features a courtyard, updated fitness center, rooftop deck and outdoor entertainment and event area with WiFi access.

As coworking spaces continue to redefine the modern office, the demand for tailored and innovative office refurbishments has never been higher. Companies like Common Desk show how flexibility, design, and function can converge to create work environments that inspire productivity and collaboration. Whether it’s transforming outdated layouts or upgrading amenities, refurbishment projects must strike a balance between preserving what works and integrating fresh, efficient features that match today’s work culture.

For businesses aiming to revamp their interiors or adapt to hybrid work models, professional insight is key. Specialists in office fit out hertfordshire bring valuable expertise to the table, ensuring each square foot is optimized for both aesthetics and utility. From reconfiguring meeting spaces to enhancing breakout zones, their approach emphasizes functionality while respecting the unique brand and goals of each company.

Moreover, an effective refurbishment goes beyond surface-level changes. It breathes new life into a space, improves energy efficiency, and boosts employee morale—all while maintaining minimal disruption to day-to-day operations. As workspaces evolve to meet the demands of a shifting professional landscape, choosing the right refurbishment partner is more than just a design decision; it’s a strategic investment in the future of work.
