Thomas Hennington is accused of taking the vehicle from the ambulance bay while medics were delivering a patient inside the hospital, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said.

Authorities responded around 1:30 a.m. and stopped Hennington at 5900 Dallas Fort Worth Turnpike, about 10 miles from the hospital, according to the Morning News.

The ambulance was returned undamaged to the hospital. No equipment or drugs were missing, Evans said.

Hennington was book into the Dallas County jail on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. No bond had been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
