Dallas is just the 14th city in the United States to score a Counter Culture Coffee training and education center, which opened in Deep Ellum this weekend.
The North Carolina-based company set up shop at 3333 Commerce St. in a vintage brick building that was once Flirt hair salon, CultureMap reported.
Counter Culture provides roasts for Dallas coffee shops like Fiction Coffee, Sip Stir Coffee House, Brewed and Pressed and the Weekend. But it’s not a traditional coffee house.
Instead, the business educates and trains professional baristas on brewing, espresso pulling, grinding, milk art and other skills.
For the coffee consumer, Counter Culture opens once a week at 10 a.m. Friday for a free tasting series. They also offer home brewing classes and pop-up events with local chefs.
