Medics discovered the ambulance was missing when they tried to respond to a 911 call.

Authorities tracked the vehicle as it traveled east on Interstate 20 and crossed into Louisiana.

In Bossier City, the driver, 19-year-old Kendall Tyson of Dallas, failed to stop and led Louisiana police on a high-speed chase, ABC affiliate WFAA reported. The chase ended in Bossier Parish, about 20 miles north, when the ambulance was forced to stop because of slow traffic.

Tyson was arrested at 5:45 p.m. and booked into Bossier Maximum jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight, resisting by false information, misrepresentation during booking, driving while intoxicated and no driver’s license, according to WFAA.
